Basic Fire Fighters Course (BFFC) – Aviation

The program aims to provide community firefighters with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively fulfil their roles and responsibilities within the fire service.



Eligibility

  • Height: Female 157cms, Male 165cms and above

  • Qualification: 10+2 and Graduates

  • Age: 19 to 24 years

  • Physically / Medically Fit

  • LMV/HMV Driving License

  • Good understanding of English

6 months Residential Program

Upon successfully completing this course, the student will:

  1. Learn to perform fundamental duties of aircraft rescue and fire-fighting (ARFF) for both aircraft emergencies and building fires at airports, following International Standards and Recommended Practices.

  2. Develop basic skills in handling structural fires, including techniques for extinguishment and containment.

  3. Gain proficiency in conducting technical rescues to safely extricate individuals from hazardous situations.

  4. Acquire knowledge and strategies for mitigating hazardous material (Hazmat) incidents, ensuring the safety of personnel and the surrounding environment.

  • Fire science

  • Firefighting appliances, firefighting, and rescue equipment

  • Building fire safety

  • Provision of rescue & firefighting facilities at an airport

  • Introduction to ARFF operations

  • Airport Emergency Plan overview

  • Introduction to hazardous materials

  • Air traffic services, ARFF watch tower procedures and RT communications

  • Emergency medical services & first aid

  • Practical drills and exercises
